Certain diseases such as Diabetes, Resiratory and Cardiovascular disorders  as well as smoking have been recognized as being contributing factors to periodontal disease.

Other conditions such as hormonal unbalances due to pregnancy and menopause can also exacerbate the periodontal infection. The American Dental Association has mandated greater efforts to make early diagnosis and treatment of periodontal disease and our office has made great changes to comply with this action. These conditions, if treated and monitored closely, can be treated with great success.

We now know that healthy gums don’t bleed. And when they do, a definite infection is present within your gums. It is important that you take care of your teeth and gums otherwise you may expose your teeth to decay, bone loss and even loose teeth.

Ultimately you are the deciding factors in the success of the treatment. By helping you improve the way you care for your teeth assures us even greater success with your treatment.
